How do I find videos from the library?

Answer

If you are looking for a specific video, you can always start by searching the title in OneSearch:

You can also find videos on most subjects, including some popular entertainment, through these York Library databases:

Alexander Street Academic Video Collection

  • Over 66,000 film titles.
  • Includes anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, popular movies, and more
  • Sony Pictures Classic collection includes 300+ popular movie titles
  • Film Platform collection includes 300+ documentary film festival award winners and nominees
  • 360 VR collection has 150+ immersive videos to let you explore new places
  • Music & Performing Arts collection lets you catch a play, opera, ballet, or dance performance

Kanopy Streaming

  • York Library has a limited selection of titles available via Kanopy, which can be renewed annually.
  • If there's a title you need for a course you are teaching, please search in Kanopy and use the request feature to get access to the film. We will follow up on all requests to make sure we purchase the film streaming rights for the length of time that you require.

Note: Most links will require you to sign in from off-campus using your CUNY login.
