What is LibKey Nomad and how can it help me find articles and PDFs online?

Answer

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension tool that connects you to PDFs and article links when searching on the open web. Nomad is active on many sites for researchers, including publisher pages, PubMed, Wikipedia, results in Google Scholar, and more. It identifies content that is available through York Library and connects you to the article with one click.

What browsers support LibKey Nomad?
LibKey Nomad currently works on Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi.

How do I install LibKey Nomad?
Installation in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave & Vivaldi is simple!  Just visit libkeynomad.com and click the icon for your browser.  Your browser will then ask you to confirm. Choose "York College - City University of New York" when prompted to select your organization and you are all set!

Do you need to create an account to use Nomad?
No! The creators of Nomad are very privacy minded. So there are no user accounts to create, the extension does not ask for or store your institutional user credentials and it does not run any scripts on any webpages other than specific publisher pages, as well as a few select domains such as PubMed and Wikipedia which have unique features for each site.
