Where can I find peer reviewed articles?

Answer

Need peer-reviewed source for your paper or other assignment? Luckily, it isn't hard to find peer-reviewed sources: you just need to know where to look!  If you start in the right place, you can usually find a relevant, peer-reviewed scholarly source for your research.

The easiest way to find a peer-reviewed article is by using OneSearch. Just type in your topic keywords, and look for the "Peer Reviewed" symbol in the results. You can also check the box on the sidebar for "Peer Reviewed Journals" to limit your results to peer-reviewed sources only. It's about as easy as a Google search, but more reliable for finding scholarly sources.

Check out our guide to using OneSearch to learn more about finding resources.

You can also use any of the library's databases. You can find an alphabetical list on the Databases and More page, or try our Databases by Subject guide to find databases grouped by subject.

Google Scholar can be great, too! Just remember to add York College Library Links to your Scholar Settings (see instructions on how to do it) so that you can easily find full text articles for free.

We also have research guides on many subjects which can help you identify the best databases for your field. If you need more help, you can always find us on our Chat with a Librarian service, or send an email to reference@york.cuny.edu.
